If you live in the NYC area, you have to come out to Red Hook this weekend. There is a lot going on…

First, stop by Baked for some fuel (caffeine/muffin/cookie)…then you have to hit up, Red Hook Maker Market Holiday Pop-up! … Featuring Red Hook Makers at the new Atelier Roquette space. By the by, Atelier Roquette is a great event space (think Weddings, Celebrations, Holiday Party). If you have an event and need a space, you need to call the gals at Atelier. In the meantime, come on down to the Maker Market for food, drink, music and shopping…noon to 8pm on Dec. 7th. Some highlights per the Brooklyn Based blog : “In one place you’ll find succulent terrariums from Kerry Quade Design, handmade wreaths from Saipua, children’s toy kits from Maker’s Toolbox, treats from Home/Made like citrus ricotta and salty burnt caramel, and loads of other original goods like jewelry, gift-worthy wine from Red Hook Winery, plus a collection of vintage and found objects.”

Oh, this is also the time to Discover the Hook. Red Hook is looking for more small businesses. Come on down to tour available retail and commercial properties. In the words of the Discover the Hook…”make that jump from your studio to your own shop here in Red Hook”. And, since all of these events coincide with the Best Red Hook(er) Holiday Window Contest, it is the perfect time to “window shop”.

Next up: come and check out Red Hook’s best kept secret, The Kentler Flatfiles. Kentler Gallery, conveniently located next to Baked, is opening up their Flatfiles for a very special holiday sale. This Saturday, Dec. 7th, from 1-5pm, Kentler will host a special sale of drawings and prints from over 200 national and international artists. Perfect, unique, gifting opportunity.

Finally, don’t you want to come eat yourself silly at Baked this weekend? We have all sorts of holiday cakes and cookies and tons of caffeinated beverages. And we have our very own Baked Market…featuring tons of foodie gifts…like jams, nut butters, signed Baked cookbooks, brownie mixes, etc…

Come see us and get some stocking stuffers. And cake. Lots and lots of cake. Happy Holidays!
