The Great Baked (9th) Birthday. Happy Bday to Us.

Holy dang. Baked is going to be 9 years old tomorrow!!!! NINE!!!! And to think we (myself/Renato) have only aged about 27+ years in that same time span.


Without getting too misty and teary-eyed, we’d just like to give a big shout out to our staff over the years. Baked wouldn’t be Baked without them. And extra special hugs to our customers and neighbors and friends. Red Hook is truly an extraordinary, magical (perhaps the last of its kind in NYC) neighborhood and we couldn’t imagine birthing Baked anywhere else.

Before I go count my grey hairs and apply my wrinkle cream, I’d like to invite you to celebrate with Baked this weekend. Come out and grab slices of birthday cake (mind you, at 2005 prices) and other special goodies. But the best part: ¬†Funfetti (or Sprinkle) cupcakes will be one dollar. That’s right ONE DAMN DOLLAR, all weekend long. What are you waiting for?!!!

And, by the by, Year Ten looks like it is going to be a big one for us. New store, new book, lots of anti-anxiety meds…
