Red Hook Openings


Decorator

DECORATOR – RED HOOK

Decorators report to the Head Decorator. You will work to maintain the highest level of aesthetic quality, consistency, cleanliness, and organization.

REQUIREMENTS

Wedding cake experience

You can single-handedly construct, compose, and decorate a wedding cake without supervision.

Work Ethic

You're punctual, quick on your feet, and a team player.

Food Safety

Follow all NYC DOH and Baked food safety standards vigilantly. Your friends should know you as the FIFO master. 

Efficiency and Flow

Work swiftly and accurately so that customers are quickly attended to.

Knowledge

Know our product backwards and forwards; from the sweet & salty cake swirl to our wedding cake aesthetic.

 

EXPERIENCE

Completed a pastry arts degree or certificate (must)

Barista

Baked Baristas report to the store manager. Baked baristas have stellar coffee making skills promote the Baked brand and store experience with integrity, honesty, and knowledge.

Customer service

Smooth skills – you can make all coffee drinks quickly and accurately and make basic latte art.

Retail Store Manager

STORE MANAGER – RED HOOK

The store manager strengthens Baked's brand and culture while managing front of house operations and communicating with back of house managers. This person understands all roles needed for a bakery including: Administrator, Barista, Decorator, Porter, Logistics.

RESPONSIBILITIES
People Management
Excellent leadership, organization and management skills. Actively embody the Baked brand, inspire leadership and support employee growth through empowerment and development.
Customer Experience
Ensure that our customers are receiving the highest quality product, most genuine service, and cleanest presentation at all times. Demonstrate a discerning eye for merchandising and display.
HR
Maintain, prepare, and recommend human resource policies and procedures. Hear and resolve employee grievances; counsel employees. Continuously recruit strong candidates.
Order Coordination
Oversee in-house retail and wholesale orders and outgoing shipments, ensuring 99% accuracy is maintained

Follows recipes production schedule accurately and completely.

Check production schedule to determine variety and quantity of goods to bake.

Measure and mix ingredients to form dough or batter, following recipes.

Roll, cut, and shape dough to form rolls, pie crusts, tarts, cookies, and related products.

Able to use a variety of kitchen tools and equipment: floor mixers, sheeter, robocoup, etc.

Tribeca Openings


Baker

We're looking for one more baker for our new Tribeca location. Bakers report to the Head Baker.  

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepares muffins, cookies, pies, cakes, biscuits, and other pastries, according to established recipes.

  • Reviews production schedules to determine variety and quantity of goods to bake and to assemble supplies and equipment needed for daily baking activities.

  • Receives ingredients and other supplies from main kitchen and/or pantry as required for daily operations.

  • Cuts and weighs dough into uniform portions with knife or divider, molds dough into loaves or other shapes, and places in pans; proofs dough and bakes in oven using peel; inspects product for quality during and after baking and makes adjustments to processes as required.

  • Spreads or sprinkles a range of various toppings on specialty baked items.

  • Shapes dough for cookies, pies, and fancy pastries either by hand or by using dough rollers and cookie cutters.

  • Cleans and maintains work areas, utensils, and equipment.

  • Attends to day-to-day problems and needs concerning equipment and food supplies; detects and ensures disposition of spoiled or unattractive food, defective supplies/equipment, and/or other unusual conditions.

  • Completes production sheets and other records as required.

  • May be required to prepare baked goods for special diets.

  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Line/Prep Cook

We are looking for passionate individuals to join our Savory Team! The prep/line cooks report to the Head of Savory. Line/Prep Cooks are expected to prepare food, help kitchen, workers in the preparation of food items and set up allocated stations for menu, as instructed by Head Savory Chef and compliant with standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Set up stations and collect all necessary supplies to prepare menu for service.

  • Prepare a variety of foods; meat, seafood, poultry, vegetable, and cold food items.

  • Arrange sauces and supplementary garnishes for allocated station.

  • Cover, date and correctly store all bits and pieces and food prep items.

  • Notify Chef in advance of likely shortages.

  • Serve menu items compliant with established standards. 

  • Use food preparation tools in accordance with manufactures instructions. 

  • Close the kitchen correctly and follow the closing checklist for kitchen stations.

  • Maintain a prepared and sanitary work area at all times. 

  • Keep the work area fresh all through the shift. 

  • Make sure all storage areas are tidy and all products are stored appropriately. 

  • Constantly use safe and hygienic food handling practices.

  • Returns dirty food preparation utensils to the appropriate areas. 

  • Assist with all duties as assigned by Head Savory Chef. 

EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma, culinary school training preferred.

  • Knowledge of basic skills on food preparation. Must know how to use cooking wares such as the knives, pans, ovens, etc. Understand different recipes specifically, the recipes offered by the restaurant. 

  • NYC Dept. of Health certification preferred.

  • Possesses good time management skills and a pleasant character.

  • Ability to work under pressure and long hours of standing. 

  • Maintains good hygiene practices and has a passion for fine food.
